Yes, the animals were amazing, but it was also the camp and staff that really made the trip. Everything was simple and comfortable and perfect to enjoy as a family. There were so many small touches (like a birthday cake in the middle of Savuti!) that made it not feel like "factory tourists" but genuine and personal.
The staff were fantastic - by the end of trip, we were calling Mike "Magic Mike" and begging for recipes and tucking away extra "Magic Mike Muffins!" - (PS we ate like warthogs!!) . . . and debating soccer teams with "Mighty MD"! And, of course, Frank (aka Fran-pala) our hero guide!
